Barry J. Marshall, born on September 30, 1951, is an Australian scientist. He and J. Robin Warren discovered Helicobacter pylori (HP) and its role in gastritis, gastric ulcer and other diseases. He was awarded the 2005 Nobel Prize in physiology or medicine. In 2011, he was rated as a foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of engineering. [1]
