Literature review is a basic skills for an active researcher. However, it could be very time-consuming even if you only follow a few important journals in biophysics. So in our group, we have a collective Journal scan - "Everybody makes contributions, everybody gets rewards". We assign the important journals to different person. Then they were put together in our Wiki website.

In biophysics Journal, one model was built to explain the shape oscillation of regenerating hydra. In Cell, telomere, also called 'Age gene', is found to have a rapid movement under the influence of several proteins. In Europhysics Letters, one paper talked about the 'footprints' of the irreversibility. in PLoS Biology,  there is a paper talking about the noise in speech. In PNAS, a paper talked about bi-directional membrane tube dynamics driven by non-progressive motors

Stochastic processes are everywhere in the biological world. In ArXiv this month, there are three papers about stochatic models for Cancer growth, Boolean random network and population dynamics of the food web. For bio-molecules, the structure-function relationship is a forever topic, there is a paper talking about minimum model for proteins and RNAs. Journal of the Royal Society, the Britain version of PNAS, published a very good review paper about biological switches and clock. How the components of protein to act together to have a definite function in a noisy environment? This is truly an interesting topic. Ou-yang, the head of institute of Theoretic Physics of CAS, published a paper about membrane in European Physics Journal E.

In PLoS Computational Biology, one paper proposed that the evolution of protein complex does not come from random rewiring of its structure. Instead, when it came into being for a function, it will be highly conserved during the evolution. in PNAS, there is a good paper talking about some new discoveries about protein folding.
