开篇先引用《简·爱》中JANE EYRE的两段精彩言论：

    “Do you think I can stay to become nothing to you? Do you think I am an automaton?--a machine without feelings? and can bear to have my morsel of bread snatched from my lips, and my drop of living water dashed from my cup? Do you think, because I am poor, obscure, plain, and little, I am soulless and heartless? You think wrong!--I have as much soul as you,--and full as much heart! And if God had gifted me with some beauty and much wealth, I should have made it as hard for you to leave me, as it is now for me to leave you. I am not talking to you now through the medium of custom, conventionalities, nor even of mortal flesh;--it is my spirit that addresses your spirit; just as if both had passed through the grave, and we stood at God's feet, equal,--as we are!”

       每当我读到夏洛蒂·勃朗特在《简·爱》中的这段话时，总是很激动。JANE EYRE，一个貌不惊人的女子，勤劳、质朴、坚强、执着、独立的人格魅力，一个追求平等与自主的知识女性形象，深深鼓舞着我。正如书中人，我的样貌实在不敢恭维，甚至连书中人都不及。但我与她一样，有着一种对生活的执着，一种独立质朴的信念。也许正如书中人所说，若上帝给予我美丽与财富，我今天就并不是如此活着。我也许可以支配更多的东西，包括情感，但我是否活得更高贵、更幸福呢？那就不一定了。我不愿意当一只在金笼子里的金丝雀，那只是给别人赏玩与愚弄，美丽与财富束缚着她，只能永远守住这份所谓的“幸福”。我要自由独立地生活在这片天空下，即使不能成为一只雌鹰，翱翔碧空，也要当一只自力更生的小麻雀，拥有一片属于自己的天地。
