Luciano Floridi (Laurea Rome “La Sapienza”, MPhil and PhD Warwick, MA Oxon. www.philosophyofinformation.net) is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Hertfordshire, where he holds the Research Chair in Philosophy of Information in the School of Humanities, and Fellow of St Cross College, Oxford University. He is the founder and director of the Information Ethics research Group at the University of Oxford, and of the research Group in Philosophy of Information at the University of Hertfordshire. He is best known for his pioneering work on two new areas of philosophical research, which he has contributed to establish: the philosophy of information and information ethics. His publications include over a hundred papers on epistemology and the philosophy of computing and information and several books, and have been translated into many languages. He is currently working on a new book entitled The Philosophy of Information for Oxford University Press, and editing the Handbook of Computer Ethics for Cambridge University Press. He is President of the International Association for Philosophy and Computing (www.ia-cap.org).
