Project Officer Positions in Bioinformatics at NTU, Singapore

We are looking to hire two self-motivated Project Officers, working in the area of
Bioinformatics (focus on Genomics and Systems Biology) in Prof. Jie Zheng’s lab,
School of Computer Engineering at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Topics of interest include, but not limited to

- Computational modeling and simulation in Cancer Systems Biology
- Computational data analysis of Epigenetics in gene regulation
- Algorithm design for Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS)
- On-line database development and data mining for genomic data

Duties involve algorithm design and implementation, development of database and web-server,
in collaboration with top-level research centers, such as National Institutes of Health, USA,
National Cancer Centre Singapore, Genome Institute of Singapore.

Applicants for these positions should satisfy the following requirements

- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science and Engineering, Applied Mathematics,
Biomedical engineering, or a related discipline
- Strong programming skills (in C/C++, Java, Perl/Python, R) and
database/web-server application development
- A strong interest in life sciences
- Research publications will be a plus, but not required

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary commensurate with his/her qualification and experience. The appointment will start as soon as possible and will be initially for one year, with possibility for extension
up to an additional year.
