Announcing Bookmetrix: a new platform for tracking book impact

We're excited to report that this week saw the launch of Bookmetrix, a new platform we've been busy building in collaboration with Springer Science+Business Media.

Designed to help authors, readers and editors better understand the broader impacts and attention surrounding their books after publication, t
he data captured via Bookmetrix is now displayed on the book pages on Springer’s content platform SpringerLink.

This data includes how often an individual book or chapter is mentioned, shared, reviewed or read online
. Users can click through from the SpringerLink page to view the Bookmetrix details page, where more extensive information is available. Updated in real-time, the metrics are drawn from a variety of different sources including the Altmetric database and Springer data feeds.

As well as the public-facing details pages, we've also built and provided training for an internal database that enables Springer staff to easily search, filter and report on the impact data for any of their books. More information about this tool is available on the Bookmetrix homepage.

Have a read of our latest blog post,
Bookmetrix: From Concept to Launch, for a behind-the-scenes look at the work that went on at Altmetric over the last 6 months ahead of launching the platform.

We'd love to know what you think - feel free to drop us a line or tweet us @altmetric. You can also follow Bookmetrix itself on Twitter - @bookmetrix!

Kind regards
The Altmetric Team
