缩写词通常都是大写字母形式，但是在完整拼写的情况下，只需要单词的首字母大写。
示例
如果是复数形式，确保“s”也出现在缩写中！

carbon nanotubes (CNTs) 【正确】
如果该缩写只在全文中出现一次则不要使用缩写。一般情况下，缩写词应在摘要和正文中均出现三次以上，否则无需使用，即便是您的专业领域十分常见的缩写。某些词不需要解释可以直接缩写。详情可以查阅您的拟投期刊的投稿须知。

Carbon nanotubes (CNT) are allotropes of carbon with a cylindrical nanostructure and are categorized as single-walled nanotubes (SWCNTs) and multi-walled nanotubes (M-WNT). SWNTs can be grown on Si substrates using a chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method. MWNTs consist of multiple rolled layers (concentric tubes) of graphite. SWNT are an important variety of carbon nanotube because they exhibit electric properties that are not shared by the MWNT variants. Several methods of separating semiconducting and metallic CNTs are known. The CAS (Chinese academy of sciences) has defined CNT research as a key area for nanotechnology development in China.
