关于 APS 的 Mobile Subscription —— 大大方便科研工作者 今天早上收到 APS Editorial Office 的系统 Email ,标题是: “What’s New With Physical Review—Spring 2013” 其中第一条就是: Mobile Subscriptions Wish you could read Physical Review with your Sunday morning coffee or while at the March Meeting? Now you can conveniently access APS journals from home, on mobile devices, or while traveling by linking your institution’s subscriptions to your personal APS Journal Account. 做了下试验,确实很不错。简单步骤如下: 第一步, 登陆 APS 个人账号 (前提是要自己用 email 注册个账号,非常简单,输入 email ,设置密码,完成后在 email 中点击系统发来的激活链接即完成整个 Account 的注册激活。) 手机定制登陆地址: https://publish.aps.org/account/go-mobile Log in with your APS Journal Account to view your mobile subscription status or sign up for one. A mobile subscription will allow you to use your institution's subscriptions from home, on your mobile devices, or while on the road. 第二步, 登陆后点击右侧 “ Mobile Subscription ”, 用你当前的有 APS 文献下载权限的 IP 完成手机订阅( Sign up ),一次成功订阅的权限有效时间是两周,以后可以类似方法去再次更新订阅。如下页面提示: 这一步最重要的是你所在的机构已经订阅了 APS 数据库。如果你所在的大学或研究机构没有订阅的话,那就需要别的途径使的你具有此权限。解决此问题最简单的途径就是用 free proxy 了。方便 + 简单 + 实用。 第三步, 假如你现在不在单位(在家或出差),不想使用单位繁琐的 VPN 而想直接上网阅读 APS 文章,那就 登陆个人 Account 后直接访问下载文献页面 : 该页面的最上面订阅机构名称那里会出现一个“ Mobile Active! ”。表明你目前具有直接 PDF 下载权限了。 后记: APS 推出的这个服务,个人感觉主要方便了经常出差或在家查阅文献的人群。不用连接单位繁琐的虚拟 VPN 就可以获取数据库权限,确实做到了很方便、人性化。但此服务也有额外用途,比如可以方便一些没有订阅 APS 数据库的用户:一是你可以让你的同学朋友帮你在他们有权限的 ip 下给你完成你 Account 的手机订阅激活;二是你也可以自己用 free proxy 完成此举,在接下来的两周内不用再去设置或“挂” proxy 了,直接下载文献,多好,也省去了老用 proxy 需要点击 PDF 去验证什么爱因斯坦头像的麻烦。感觉该服务有点像 SD 的 Cookie 技术。 欢迎各位补充完善。 2013.03.14
