jhsweden 2016-10-2 16:03
Brittany Sets Aside EUR 85 Million for Groix Floater The regional government of Brittany, France, has allocated EUR 85 million for the 24MW pilot floating wind project off the Ile de Groix proposed by Eolfi Offshore France, a joint venture between Eolfi and CGN European Energy Company. The financing package includes a grant of EUR 34 million and a EUR 51 million repayable advance. The French Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME) approved the Groix project in July 2016, along with a 24MW project in the Gruissan area, some 15 kilometres of the Mediterranean coast, led by the Quadran Group. The EUR 183.3 million Groix floating wind project will comprise four 6MW GE Haliade turbines, installed on DCNS floating foundations produced in collaboration with Vinci, some 15 kilometres off the island of Groix. Eolfi and CGN have an option to add two more 6MW turbines to the wind farm which could then produce enough power to meet the electricity demand of a city the size of Lorient. ADEME issued the call for floating wind project proposals in August 2015. The floating wind farms are to have three to six turbines, with turbines having a capacity of at least 5MW. The call identified four areas as the most favourable for the development of floating wind farms: off the island of Groix, off the town of Gruissan, off Faraman lighthouse, and Leucate in the Gulf of Lion. In total, five developers have reportedly submitted a total of eight bids within the call for proposals. Engie, EDP Renewables, Caisse des Dépôts and Eiffage submitted a bid to build a pilot floating wind farm of up to 36MW in capacity at the Leucate site at the beginning of April 2016. In-mid April, Eolfi Offshore France submitted a proposal to ADEME for the construction of a floating wind farm off the island of Groix. Apart from the island of Groix, Eolfi Offshore France has reportedly submitted bids for floating farms off Leucate and Faraman lighthouse. Quadran is said to be interested in the Leucate, apart from the Gruissan site. EDF Energies Nouvelles is reportedly interested in developing a floating wind farm off Faraman. Other projects under this call are still being investigated and the additional winners of the call for tender will be announced this month. SOURCE: OW Offshore WIND Staff

采用中国气象科学数据共享服务网部分站点的风向数据,风向代码的释义请见说明文档( SURF_CLI_CHN_MUL_DAY_SURF_CLI_CHN_MUL_DAY_DOCU_C.pdf )。

opensesame 2014-6-5 23:13
( 1 )作图时,容易犯的第一个毛病,就是忽视了 x 和 y 轴的比例,导致风速矢量的方向看上去不对,譬如: figure set(gcf, 'PaperUnits' , 'inches' ); set(gcf, 'Renderer' , 'painters' ); % fixmatlab datetick bug in opengl set(gcf, 'paperposition' , ); new_axis = axes( 'position' , ); hwvec = feather(u_t, v_t, 'k-' ); for i =1:length(hwvec)-1 %the lastline on the axes xData = get(hwvec(i), 'XData' ); yData = get(hwvec(i), 'YData' ); set(hwvec(i), 'XData' ,xData(1:2), 'YData' ,yData(1:2)) end axis( ) set(gca, 'YTick' , ); ylabel( 'Wind (m/s)' ); 图 1 x 和 y 轴比例失当,导致风速矢量看上去方向不合理 正常情况下,东海平均风场应常见偏南风、东南风、西南风、东北风或者西北风,而上图显示基本是正南风和正北风。 ( 3 )解决方法是在放大 y 轴的数据,比例系数自己选择 图 3 方法 y 轴比例,把 u, v 各放大 5 倍后的矢量图 ratio = 5; % 比例尺 y_range_orig = ; % 原始比例 y_range = ratio*y_range_orig; % 新比例 figure set(gcf, 'PaperUnits' , 'inches' ); set(gcf, 'Renderer' , 'painters' ); % fixmatlab datetick bug in opengl set(gcf, 'paperposition' , ); new_axis = axes( 'position' , ); hwvec = feather(ratio*u_t,ratio*v_t, 'k-' ); set(hwvec, 'clip' , 'off' ); % 图形在坐标轴之上 daspect( ); for i =1:length(hwvec)-1 %the lastline on the axes xData = get(hwvec(i), 'XData' ); yData = get(hwvec(i), 'YData' ); set(hwvec(i), 'XData' ,xData(1:2), 'YData' ,yData(1:2)) end %for axis( ) htext = text(13,10, '(B)' ); set(gca, 'YTick' , ,... 'YTicklabel' , ); set(gca, 'box' , 'on' , 'fontsize' ,8); ylabel( 'Wind (m/s)' ); Happy programming!

He wishes for the Cloths of Heaven
duke01361 2013-10-5 19:14
From The Wind Among the Reeds (1899) He wishes for the Cloths of Heaven William B Yeats (1865-1939) Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths, Enwrought with golden and silver light, The blue and the dim and the dark cloths Of night and light and the half-light, I would spread the cloths under your feet: But I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet; Tread softly because you tread on my dreams. The Song of Wandering Aengus I went out to the hazel wood, Because a fire was in my head, And cut and peeled a hazel wand, And hooked a berry to a thread; And when white moths were on the wing And moth-like stars were flickering out, I dropped the berry in a stream and caught a little silver trout. When I had laid it on the floor I went to blow the fire aflame, but something rustled on the floor, And some one called me by my name: It had become a glimmering girl With apple blossom in her hair Who called me by my name and ran And faded through the brightening air. Though I am old with wandering Through hollow lands and hilly lands, I will find out where she has gone, And kiss her lips and take her hands; And walk among long dappled grass, And pluck till time and times are done The silver apples of the moon, The golden apples of the sun. The Lake Isle of Innisfree I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree, And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattles made: Nine bean-rows will I have there, a hive for the honeybee, And live alone in the bee-loud glade. And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow, Dropping from the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings; There midnight's all a glimmer, and noon a purple glow, And evening full of the linnet's wings. I will arise and go now, for always night and day I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore; While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements gray, I hear it in the deep heart's core. The Cat and the Moon The cat went here and there And the moon spun round like a top, And the nearest kin of the moon, The creeping cat, looked up Black Minnaloushe stared at the moon, For, wander and wail as he would, The pure cold light in the sky Troubled his animal blood. Minnaloushe runs in the grass Lifting his delicate feet. Do you dance Minnaloushe, do you dance? When two close kindred meet, What better than call a dance? Maybe the moon may learn, Tired of that courtly fashion, A new dance turn. Minnaloushe creeps through the grass From moonlit place to place, The sacred moon overhead Has taken a new phase. Does Minnaloushe know that his pupils Will pass from change to change, And that from round to crescent, From crescent to round they range? Minnaloushe creeps through the grass Alone, important and wise, And lifts to the changing moon His changing eyes. The Three Hermits THREE old hermits took the air By a cold and desolate sea, First was muttering a prayer, Second rummaged for a flea; On a windy stone, the third, Giddy with his hundredth year, Sang unnoticed like a bird. 'Though the Door of Death is near And what waits behind the door, Three times in a single day I, though upright on the shore, Fall asleep when I should pray.' So the first but now the second, 'We're but given what we have earned When all thoughts and deeds are reckoned So it's plain to be discerned That the shades of holy men, Who have failed being weak of will, Pass the Door of Birth again, And are plagued by crowds, until They've the passion to escape.' Moaned the other, 'They are thrown Into some most fearful shape.' But the second mocked his moan: 'They are not changed to anything, Having loved God once, but maybe, To a poet or a king Or a witty lovely lady.' While he'd rummaged rags and hair, Caught and cracked his flea, the third, Giddy with his hundredth year, Sang unnoticed like a bird.

The Wind in the Willows 《
carldy 2013-2-15 22:20
The Wind in the Willows by KENNETH GRAHAME ( 肯尼思 . 格雷厄姆) Chapter 1 The River Bank The Mole had been working very hard all the morning, spring-cleaning his little home. First with brooms, then with dusters; then on ladders and steps and chairs, with a brush and a pail of whitewash; till he had dust in his throat and eyes, and splashes of whitewash all over his black fur, and an aching back and weary arms. Spring was moving in the air above and in the earth below and around him, penetrating even his dark and lowly little house with its spirit of divine discontent and longing. It was small wonder, then, that he suddenly flung down his brush on the floor, said ’Bother!’ and ’O blow!’ and also ’Hang spring-cleaning!’ and bolted out of the house without even waiting to put on his coat. Something up above was calling him imperiously, and he made for the steep little tunnel which answered in his case to the gaveled carriage-drive owned by animals whose residences are nearer to the sun and air. So he scraped and scratched and scrabbled and scrooged and then he scrooged again and scrabbled and scratched and scraped, working busily with his little paws and muttering to himself, ’Up we go! Up we go!’ till at last, pop! his snout came out into the sunlight, and he found himself rolling in the warm grass of a great meadow.

Barry ( huebert@hawaii.edu ) I also agree that this is an excellent example of the impacts of renewable energy. When you take energy from the air, the remaining air has less energy. I remember a marine plan to harvest 1/3 of the kinetic energy in the Gulf Stream. Can anyone argue that this wouldn't affect the delivery of energy to the North Atlantic? How close to neutral could you get and maintain that upwind fog layer? Whatever T structure is present before the mills is being destroyed to some degree by the mixing the blades cause. Whenever one of those blades is horizontal it is moving momentum into the z-axis. Clearly one mill is not enough to completely homogenize the MBL, but it starts the process. Gary (Gary M Barnes gbarnes@hawaii.edu ) From: Steven Businger businger@hawaii.edu Date: Saturday, June 18, 2011 9:31 am All, The wind farm in the photo is at Horns Rev. Also known as Horns Reef, Horns Rev is a shallow area of glacial and sea deposits of sand in the eastern North Sea, about 15 km off the westernmost point of Denmark, Blåvands Huk. It contains the first large scale offshore wind farm in the world (160 MW in 2002). The photo was published in a paper that demonstrated that the downstream wind turbines lose 20% or 30% of their power, and sometimes even more, relative to the front row (fig. 5.6). The spacing of the turbines is 7 diameters. The location of the wind farm over the North Sea is important to finding an explanation for the wake clouds. Clearly there is mist over the sea upstream of the wind farm. What is the source of this mist? If over land, radiational cooling would be the likely explanation, but the large heat capacity of the water doesn't allow radiation fog to develop so easily. Warm moist air advecting from the southwest over cooler nearshore water may be the cause, akin to the advection fogs that form along the US West Coast associated with coastal upwelling (note shadows in the wake photo suggest SW flow, assuming early morning shot). But the sea is too shallow for upwelling; more likely the cooler water forms there in winter as a result of a long period of radiational cooling making the shallow sea relatively cold. If we assume that the mist is an advection fog, it would produce a stable layer, being cooled from below (see SST figure). Stability is important, because otherwise the wind that is turning the turbines would have mixed out the mist prior to getting to the wind farm. If Tony Clark's explanation is correct (and I think it is) the air just above the layer of mist must be near, but just shy of saturation. Mixing of the air below and above the inversion at the top of the mist layer would then result in condensation by the same mechanism that makes your breath visible on a cold morning, mixing. Latent heat released in the process may help lift the plume a bit downstream as seen in the photo. Research has shown that vertical mixing of momentum and moisture by wind farms can have significant effects on downwind farm land. A loss of soil moisture was cited as one of the reasons why T. Boone Pickens, the conservative Texas oilman who became the unlikely face of energy reform efforts during the 2008 presidential campaign, announced that he will not move forward with plans to build the world's largest wind farm in his home state. However, Pickens' company's spokesman cited "the collapse of the capital markets" and "the steep downturn of natural gas prices" as the reason for the decision. The spokesman insisted that "Boone still remains committed and focused on developing wind energy in the United States." Cheers, Steven

Colors of the wind-Vanessa Williams

Colors of the wind-Vanessa Williams When owls call the breathless moon,猫头鹰对着月亮叫。让我联想到另一首歌词里也有对着月亮叫的声音,不过这次不是猫头鹰叫,是狼嚎:the wolf cry to the blue corn moon。 Think you own whatever land you land on Earth is just a dead thing you can claim But I know every rock and tree and creature Has a life, has a spirit, has a name Think the only people who are people Are the people who look and think like you 才称之为人类, But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger You learn things you never knew You never knew Have you ever heard the wolf cry 你可曾听到,野狼向着冷月哀嚎? to the blue corn moon? or ask the grinning bobcat why he grinned 可曾询问,山猫为何咧嘴而笑?
