Following the success in organizing the 1 st International Conference on Mass Transit Rail Facilities Design and Management which was held in Suzhou, in August 2011, the Department of System Engineering and Engineering Management and the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering, City University of Hong Kong are jointly organized the 2 nd ICMTRFDM 2012 . The maturity of subway/ mass transit rail system, which is always regarded as the landmark of a city, represents the urban civilization and social and economic development.
