中国大陆研究机构进入ESI全球前1%的学科排名——工程学

汤森路透( ThomsonReuters )基本科学指标数据库( Essential Science Indicators ,简称 ESI ), 3 月 5 日公布了根据全球研究机构于 2004 年 1 月 1 日至 2014 年 12 月 31 日在 Webof Science 数据库的 SCI 、 SSCI 收录工程学领域期刊上发表的论文, 统计分析出工程学领域共有 1194 个研究机构进入 基于 ESI 统计方法的农业工程学科引文排名 ESI 通过对 Web of Science 所收录的期刊,依据期刊载文性质,将所有期刊划分为 22 自己有两篇论文被ESI收录:)

今年申请基金到ISI数据库一查自己有两篇论文被《基本科学指标》数据库(Essential Science Indicators 简称ESI)收录, 想想这些工作都是在基本上没有钱的情况下做出来的,还是印证了自己对中国科研现状很早以前就得出的结论,这些结论以前我有写过也删除了,等我行将就木的时候再与大家分享吧。 1) * Sun J , Liu D Y. 2003. Geometric models for calculating cell biovolume and surface area for phytoplankton. Journal of Plankton Research , 25(11):1331-1346. 该论文被 SCI 他引 148 次。 写这篇论文的时候海大还刚开始有一些SCI论文,我还在《海洋学报》的战场上战斗着,这个论文是硕士期间开始的工作,从一个单目显微镜开始,基本上没有科研经费,当时的想很朴素,到现在我自己还没有实现当时想作的浮游植物细胞碳测定工作。刚发完这个论文我就准备卷铺盖到海洋所开始新的科研梦想了。免费放到海大网站的软件也被删除了,现在还有人在问我要。哎..... 2) Feng Y Y, Warner M E, Zhang Y H, Sun J , Fu F X, Rose J M, *Hutchins D A. 2008. European Journal of Phycology , 43(1):87-98. 该论文被引用 SCI 他引 62 次,Nature Science引用4次。 这篇论文当时在美国一下飞机就开始做钙化速率实验,时差还没有倒过来。后来依据测定钙化速率的实验申请获批了国家自然科学基金,并且成为目前我的实验室主要的研究方向之一。

横向课题研究写成的论文被ESI收录

近十年来我们课题组一直从事含不可生物降解有机废水深度处理的研究开发工作,随着国家对废水排放要求越来越严,这项研究也显得越来越重要。从 2002 年开始研究与应用曝气生物滤池,到后来发现通过化学氧化,氧化脱除部分有机物并改善其可生化性后,再使用曝气生物滤池,又能进一步脱除废水中的有机物,且可大大降低废水的处理成本。故 2005 年申请国家发明专利“化学氧化—曝气生物滤池水联合水处理方法”( ZL200510035132.9 ),并于 2008 年获得专利授权 。 广东省江门市垃圾填埋场投产于上个世纪末,运行初期,垃圾渗滤液处理设施能达到国家 1997 年垃圾渗滤液的三级排放标准,处理后出水 COD 小于 500mg/L 。但垃圾填埋场运行数年后,渗滤液中不可生物降解的有机物就越来越多,出水的 COD 持续升高,到 2008 年时,垃圾渗滤液经前段的生化处理( SBR 工艺, HRT 时间长达 20 多天),出水的 COD 在 700-800 mg/L , BOD 小于 2mg/L ,出水中的有机物基本上都是不可生物降解的有机物。由于江门 要创建全国卫生模范城市,垃圾渗滤液必须经过处理 ,至少达到 1997 年三级排放标准,而当时达不到,故必须对垃圾渗滤液处理系统进行改造。 垃圾填埋场的工作人员也探索出用混凝法可以脱除部分最终出水的 COD ,但要稳定让出水 COD 小于 300mg/L 仍存在一定的风险。经一位老师引见,我与填埋场负责人李总取得了联系,提出我们可能有让渗滤液处理出水 COD 小于 100mg/L ,使处理后出水达到 1997 年一级排放标准的方法。李总听了我的介绍,感觉有点道理,但提出一般大学老师只搞研究写论文,没有搞过工程。我告诉他,我们搞过工程,将一个化妆品厂的废水 COD 从 5000 mg/L 左右降到 60 mg/L 以下。他很快带了几名助手,开车差不多一百多公里,从江门市开到广州从化区我们做的工程项目考察。那工程是化妆品厂的项目,项目建设比较漂亮,给李总留下了比较好的印象。但他又提出:垃圾渗滤液是比工业废水还要难处理的废水,国内能稳定达到一级排放标准的处理厂很少,即使采用反渗透膜法,也存在浓水没办法处理的麻烦。你们能处理工业废水,不一定能处理垃圾渗滤液。我说我们实验室有一套中试装置可以做实验试一试。李总就回答若你们到我现场做中试,能稳定达标运行一个月,我就让你们来改造,我当场就同意了。想不到李总第二天就派公司的一部工具车,到我大学的实验室拉那套中试设备到现场。我也很重视这个项目,安排比较得力的研究生做现场中试实验。装置安装到江门垃圾渗滤液处理现场,不到一周的时间,中试装置的处理出水就稳定地达到 COD 小于 100 mg/L 的一级排放标准。李总每天都到现场去观看,要求公司的分析人员重复检测我们的处理结果。系统继续运行二周稳定达标,李总讲不用再做实验了,我相信中试结果。这样每天处理 200 吨垃圾渗滤液的深度处理工程项目就启动了。虽然处理工艺不需要中试证明了,但为了摸准垃圾渗滤液处理的各种边界条件与影响因素,收集更多的数据发表论文和完成研究生的毕业论文,中试并没有停止,在工程安装与调试期间,中试装置也一直运行。 从进场施工建设,到进水调试,我们只用了一个多月的时间,从进水调试,到出水稳定达 COD 小于 100 mg/L 的一级排放标准,又花了一个月的时间,项目取得圆满成功。由于 这是国内首次采用化学氧化 - 曝气生物滤池深度处理垃圾渗滤液的工程项目 ,且有大量的小试和中试实验数据支撑,我们在国内的核心杂志上,从小试,中试实验,到工程实践先后发表了数篇中文核心期刊论文。 2009 年,我们综合所有的结果,写了一篇英文论文发表在《 Waste Management 》( Xiaojun Wang , Sili Chen, Xiaoyang Gu, Kaiyan Wang. Pilot Study on Advanced Treatment of Landfill Leachate by Coagulation-Fenton oxidation- Biological Aerated Filter Process. Waste Management. 2009, 29(4): 1354-1358 ),该杂志虽然 SCI 影响因子只有 2.5 左右,但它是国际上固体废弃物处理处置的专业杂志,自从我们的文章发表后,我发现国内外也就开始了相关的化学氧化,然后再用生化方法处理垃圾渗滤液的相关研究,到 2010 年底,该文的引用率已大于 20 次, 2012 年初被 ESI 收录,是我们学院近十年来发表的约 700 篇 SCI 论文中只有 3 篇被 ESI 收录的论文之一 。 虽然横向课题发表研究论文,特别是高水平的研究论文困难一些,但只要留心,只要有创新,仍可以发表研究论文的。当然,我还是要提醒各位看官,搞研究,首先要查阅文献,了解前人的研究,以免走弯路。 若有创新,再查文献确认创新,必须先申请专利,然后发表论文 ,我们就吃过这方面的亏呢!

基本科学指标ESI简介

孙老师的博文“谁动了中国学者的10万篇SCI论文?”提出中信所发布数据与“科学观察”发布数据一致,时间表述却不同的问题: 中信所 : 2001 年至 2011 年(截至 2011 年 11 月 1 日)我国科技人员共发表论文 83.63 万篇;论文共被引用 519.14 万次;我国平均每篇论文被引用 6.21 次。 “科学观察”: 2001 年 1 月至 2011 年 8 月 31 日, PEOPLES R CHINA 论文数量为 836,255 ,总引用次数 5,191,358 ,平均被引用次数 6.21 。 作为"知情人士",博主特此简要回答:中信所这个数据的来源是ESI,我相信与“科学观察”的数据来源一致,二者在时间的表述上有所不同。 在ESI中的原始描述是这样的:Essential Science Indicators has been updated as of November 1, 2011 to cover a 10-year + 8-month period, January 1, 2001-August 31, 2011. 也就是说:中信所描述的是 工作时间截至11月1日, 科学观察描述的是 数据时间截至8月31日

来源:http://paper.wenweipo.com/2011/05/03/TW1105030001.htm 5年砸500億頂尖論文只添兩篇 http://paper.wenweipo.com 我要評論 ( 2 ) 放大圖片  ■ESI(理工醫農領域的論文指標)排名,台大論文數錄得全球第54。網上圖片  香港文匯報訊  據台灣《中國時報》2日報道,台灣「教育部」2006年開始推動5年500億(新台幣,下同)計劃,執行5年後,效果甚微。依教育部資料,2005年台灣15所頂尖大學發表在一流期刊《自然》、《科學》的論文共15篇;領了大筆計劃經費後,2010年發表在這兩種刊物的論文是17篇。若只從這個指標衡量,5年500億計劃成果是:只多兩篇。  高等教育評鑑中心基金會1日也公布ESI(理工醫農領域的論文指標)排名,台大論文數全球排名54、被引用次數排165名;成大論文數170名、被引用次數362名。高教評鑑中心表示,台灣大學論文量很多,但被引用率偏低,論文品質有待提升。 42所大學進入ESI排名  台「教育部」2006年開始推動5年500億計劃,執行5年後,第一期補助的15所大學發表在《自然》、《科學》的論文數量,竟然只有17篇,比沒有補助前的15篇只多兩篇。  高教評鑑中心調查顯示,今年台灣有42所大學進入ESI理工醫農領域,論文數量前三名是台大、成大、交大,被引用次數前三名是台大、成大、清大。  高教評鑑中心兼任研究員黃慕萱指出,在理工醫農領域,論文數量及總被引用次數第一名都是哈佛大學,亞洲最好的是東京大學,中國大陸以北京清華大學及北京大學表現最出色。 被一流期刊引用不到10%  台大主秘張培仁說,台灣教授發表的原創性論文較少,加上在全世界知名度不高,被引用機會偏低,造成「論文數量多、但品質不夠好」現象。  政大教育系教授周祝瑛說,許多教授為衝論文數量而寫容易發表的論文,炒短線、撿國際熱門題目研究。5年500億計劃的資源集中在非常少數的人和科系,目前還看不到有什麼重要的研究中心出現。  交大校長吳妍華指出,能在《自然》、《科學》刊登的論文都需要長時間研究,花費的人力和心思也比較久。她坦言:「台灣很多大學都只是在衝論文數量,僅不到10%教授有能力將研究成果刊登在《自然》、《科學》上。」

何谓ESI?—参考网上资料整理

在前面发的博文“追求SCI和ESI,彰显了中国科研管理人员的无能”( http://www.sciencenet.cn/m/user_content.aspx?id=400629 )中,有人理解其中的ESI写错了(应该是EI或者ISI),其实,并没有错误。以后评定一个学科或者学校的学术水平,主要的参考指标就是ESI。下面详细介绍一下: ESI(Essential Science Indicators)-基本科学指标数据库,是由世界上著名的学术信息出版机构ISI(美国科技信息所)于2001年推出的衡量科学研究绩效、跟踪科学发展趋势的基本分析评价工具,是基于ISI引文索引数据库Science Citation Index (简称SCI)和 Social Science Citation Index(简称SSCI)所收录的全球8500多种学术期刊的1000多万条文献纪录而建立的计量分析数据库。ESI从引文分析的角度,针对22个专业领域,分别对国家、研究机构、期刊、论文以及科学家进行统计分析和排序,主要指标包括:论文数、引文数、篇均被引频次。用户可以从该数据库中了解在一定排名范围内的科学家、研究机构(大学)、国家(城市)和学术期刊在某一学科领域的发展和影响力,确定关键的科学发现,评估研究绩效,掌握科学发展的趋势和动向。通过ESI可以系统地、有针对性地分析国际学术文献。作为ISI Web of Knowledge的一部分,ESI为科学研究者提供了一种动态的、综合的、基于网络的研究分析环境。 ESI中的数据包括高被引率作者的排名、论文排名(前1%)、国家排名(前50%)和期刊排名(50%),并有简要的说明指导用户如何进行数据分析,所有图表带有解释性的链接页面。ESI的另一个独特之处是提供被称为研究前沿的专业领域列表,该列表反映了当前正深入研究的和有突破性进展的科学领域。 ESI进行数据统计的范围仅限于ISI中做了索引的期刊的文章,不包括图书及其章节或ISI中未做索引的期刊中刊登的文章,也不对其出版数量和引文数量进行统计。 ESI的特点:综合全面的定量数据、清晰准确的统计以及与其他有价值的信息资源的链接。 ESI的功能: 1.分析特定研究机构、国家、公司和学术期刊的研究绩效; 2.在22个专业领域内分别对国家、研究机构、期刊、论文、科学家进行统计分析和排序; 3.跟踪自然科学和社会科学领域内的研究发展趋势; 4.评估潜在的合作者、评论家、同行和雇员; 5.测定特定研究领域的研究产出与影响; 6.提供与ISI Web of Knowledge的链接。 http://isiknowledge.com/ESI (如果你们机构没有购买web of science的服务,可能无法访问这个网站)。我刚才上去,看到ESI数据库已经更新到2011年元旦了:Essential Science Indicators has been updated as of January 1, 2011 to cover a 10-year + 10-month period, January 1, 2000-October 31, 2010.

中国大学会改玩ESI排名游戏吗?

从自己服务的学校主页上一则新闻中看到,ESI(Essential Science Indicators)数据库是由世界上著名的学术信息出版机构ISI(美国科技信息所)于2001年推出的衡量科学研究绩效、跟踪科学发展趋势的基本分析评价工具,是基于ISI引文索引数据库Science Citation Index (简称SCI)和 Social Science Citation Index(简称SSCI)所收录的全球8500多种学术期刊的900万多条文献纪录而建立的计量分析数据库。ESI在农学、生物学、化学等22个专业领域内分别对国家、研究机构、期刊、论文、科学家进行统计分析和排序,帮助用户了解在一定排名范围内的科学家、研究机构(大学)、国家(城市)和学术期刊在某一学科领域的发展和影响力。某个学科进入ESI前1%,意味着该学科发表的SCI或SSCI论文的被引用次数排名进入了全球所有在该学科发表过SCI或SSCI文章的机构前1%。 当看到自己呆的学校已有 11个学科进入全球前1%行列 ,是不是应该欢欣鼓舞了呢?据说某老大哥学校拟在建校!¥@周年时宣布已建成了国际一流大学,又听到我们的领导们不得不在提前想着应对之策,以便随时跟进。从上述新闻看,哪天也称自己的大学已经建成了国际一流大学,应该是不乏根据的了,呵呵

ESI 为电喷雾,即样品先带电再喷雾,带电液滴在去溶剂化过程中形成样品离子,从而被检测,对于极性大的样品效果好一些; APCI 为大气压力化学电离源,样品先形成雾,然后电晕放电针对其放电,在高压电弧中,样品被电离,然后去溶剂化形成离子,最后检测,对极性小的样品效果较好。 ESI 的软电离程度较APCI 的还小,但其应用范围较APCI 的大,只有少部分ESI 做不出,可以用APCI 辅助解决问题,但是APCI还是不能解决所有ESI 解决不了的问题。 一般用ESI 和 APPI 搭配使用比 ESI 和APCI 的应用范围更广一些。 电喷雾电离源是一种软电离方式,即便是分子量大,稳定性差的化合物,也不会在电离过程中发生分解,它适合于分析极性强的大分子有机化合物,如蛋白质、肽、糖等。电喷雾电离源的最大特点是容易形成多电荷离子。这样,一个分子量为10000Da的分子若带有10个电荷,则其质荷比只有1000Da,进入了一般质谱仪可以分析的范围之内。根据这一特点,目前采用电喷雾电离,可以测量分子量在300000Da以上的蛋白质。电喷雾电离源是一种软电离方式,即便是分子量大,稳定性差的化合物,也不会在电离过程中发生分解,它适合于分析极性强的大分子有机化合物,如蛋白质、肽、糖等。电喷雾电离源的最大特点是容易形成多电荷离子。这样,一个分子量为10000Da的分子若带有10个电荷,则其质荷比只有1000Da,进入了一般质谱仪可以分析的范围之内。根据这一特点,目前采用电喷雾电离,可以测量分子量在300000Da以上的蛋白质。 大气压化学电离源主要用来分析中等极性的化合物。有些分析物由于结构和极性方面的原因,用ESI不能产生足够强的离子,可以采用APCI方式增加离子产率,可以认为APCI是ESI的补充。APCI主要产生的是单电荷离子,所以分析的化合物分子量一般小于1000Da。用这种电离源得到的质谱很少有碎片离子,主要是准分子离子。 APCI与ESI源都能分析许多样品,而且灵敏度相似,很难说出哪一种更合适。同时至今没有一个确切的准则判断何时使用某一种电离方式更好。但是通常认为电喷雾有利于分析生物大分子及其它分子量大的化合物,而APCI更适合于分析极性较小的化合物。 APCI源不能生成一系列多电荷离子,所以不适合分析生物大分子。而ESI源由于它能产生一系列的多电荷离子,特别适合于蛋白质,多肽类的生物分子。 ESI和APCI共同点: 1、使用高电压元件和雾化气喷雾法产生离子 2、通常产生(M+H)+或(M-H)-等准分子离子 3、产生极少的碎片,但可以控制产生结构碎片 4、非常灵敏的电离技术。 不同点: 1、生成离子的方式不同,ESI:液相离子化;APCI:气相离子化 2、样品兼容性 ESI:极性化合物和生物大分子 APCI:非极性,小分子化合物(相对ESI而言)且有一定挥发性 3、流速兼容性 ESI:0.001到1ml/min APCI:0.2到2ml/min 4、ESI的适用范围要远远大于APCI APCI优点∶ 1.利用所得到 +及 进行分子量确认 2.源参数调整简单,容易使用 3.耐受性好,喷雾器及针的位置不关键 4.LC流速可达2.0ml/min 5.好的灵敏度 缺点: 1.有限的结构信息 2.易发生热裂解 3.低质量时化学噪声大 4.不适合做分子量大于1000的化合物

八卦:汤姆森将发布ESI数据库的大学版"USI(大学科研指标)"

近年来,汤姆森路透公司的ESI(Essential Science Indicators,基本科学指标)数据库已受到国内外学界普遍重视。前些天去武汉参加第九届科技评价研讨会,注意到很多学者都将这一数据库作为源数据来源。 当然,这一数据库存在着学科分类粗糙而层次不清,指标太少的遗憾。 前日,汤姆森的王利先生到我校做报告,快结束时透露他们将最迟于明年推出USI(我猜可能是University Science Indicators)。 USI将聚焦于大学这一现今科学计量中的重要分析单元,并会提供超过200个学科分类(不知道是不是会用JCR的分类?),并给出更多的测量指标,有望改进前述ESI的遗憾之处。 可以预见,这一数据库面世后将成为另一重要源数据库,并促进科学计量特别是大学层面研究的发展。

从这节课起,我们进入计量学一个重要的领域--引文分析,这个东西基本构成了计量学的半壁江山。 看看刚直不阿的斗士邹承鲁院士是怎么说引文的: 科学研究贵在创新,一篇在严肃的科学期刊上发表的研究论文,必须在某些方面有所创新,否则就没有发表的价值。但是所有的科学研究又都是建立在前人工作的基础之上,在此基础上有所发展,因此又必需对前人工作给以充分的评价。在论文中必需充分回顾与本人结果直接有关的前人工作,然后再恰如其分地介绍自己工作中的创新之处 - 邹承鲁,我的科学之路,2003年 所以,基本上科学研究论文都会引用参考文献,引文分析的魅力的根源也在于此。 这节课要重点弄清楚的是: 1. 引文、参考文献、施引文献、被引文献、共引、共被引等等一系列术语所指的究竟是谁? 2. 引文分析的假设是什么? 3.
