University of Oklahoma Prospective Ph.D. Students in Microbiology Position Description Dr. Chongle Pan invites applications for the Microbiology Ph.D. program at the University of Oklahoma at Norman (OU) ( http://www.ou.edu/cas/mpbio/graduate ). The University of Oklahoma at Norman is a Carnegie-R1 comprehensive public research university. The Department of Microbiology and Plant Biology at OU ( http://www.ou.edu/cas/mpbio ) is committed to excellence in research and graduate education in the areas of microbiology, microbial ecology, and plant biology. Dr. Pan is an Associate Professor with joint appointments in the School of Computer Science ( http://www.ou.edu/coe/cs/people/pan ) and the Department of Microbiology and Plant Biology ( http://www.ou.edu/cas/mpbio/people/faculty/pan ). The prospective students will be mentored by Dr. Pan to conduct cutting-edge research in metaproteomics, metagenomics, mass spectrometry, and microbial ecology. Students may take courses from the School of Computer Science to enhance their research capabilities in bioinformatics and data science. Financial aid will be provided through Research Assistantship or Teaching Assistantship. International students should submit their application by September 1 st for the Spring admission and by March 1 st for the Fall admission.
