美国农业部盐土实验室 Salinity Laboratory, ARS, USDA参观

最近有幸参观美国农业部盐土实验室(Salinity Laboratory, Agricultural Research Service, United States Department of Agriculture)。 盐土实验室是 美国农业部下属、 以盐土为研究对象的实验室,它是国际 土壤物理学研究领域一个比较出名的实验室。土壤物理学界多个牛人均栖身于该实验室,其中有做土壤水分特征曲线出名的 van Genuchten等,不过近些年退休、跳槽了很多。个人感觉, 目前实验室总体上比较萧条,岗位空缺较多,很多实验仪器装置均闲置,估计一方面跟美国的经济大环境有关,另一方面跟目前土壤学或土壤物理学的学科整体衰败有关。
