The EIU under the Economist Group made the predictions basing on 80 countries and areas' long-term economic growth until 2030. According to the predictions, the second and third best places of birth for 2013 are Australia and Norway respectively, followed by Sweden, Denmark, Singapore, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Canada and Hong Kong in the top-10 rankings. Of Taiwan's other neighbors, South Korea comes in 19th, Japan 25th and China 49th. Half of the top-10 countries are in Europe, but only the Netherlands is in the eurozone. Countries troubled by financial woes, Greece, Portugal and Spain sit in 34th, 30th, and 28th respectively, while European major economic powerhouses, Germany, Italy, France and Britain, rank 16th, 21st, 26th and 27th. The United States is in co-16th with Germany. Rankings for BRIC countries are not high: Brazil at 37th, Russia at 72nd and India at 66th. The last in the list of 80 is Nigeria, with Kenya and Ukraine lying in 79th and 78th.
