The Third International Conference on Intelligence Science (ICIS2018) November 2-5, 2018, Beijing, China http://www.intsci.ac.cn/icis2018/ Call for Papers Artificial Intelligence research has made certain substantial progress in some special areas so far. However, the deeper understandings on the essence of intelligence are far from sufficient and, therefore, many state-of-the-art intelligent systems are still not able to compete with human intelligence. To advance the research in artificial intelligence, it is necessary to investigate intelligence, both artificial and natural, in an interdisciplinary context. The objective of this conference is to bring together researchers from brain science, cognitive science, and artificial intelligence to explore the essence of intelligence and the related technologies. The conference provides a platform for discussing some of the key issues thatare related to intelligence science. The main theme of ICIS2018 is: Intelligence Science, Information Science It is sponsored by Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI), China Chapter of International Society for Information Studies; Organizer is Peking University; and Co-supported by Beijing Association for Science and Technology (BAST), Beijing Association for Artificial Intelligence (BAAI). Topics of Interest: Topics of interest include but not limited to, the following areas: · Basic process of neural activity in brain · Linguistic cognition · Perceptual representation and feature binding · Cognitive structure · Coding and retrieval of memory · Learning and synaptic plasticity · Exploration and active sampling · Thought and decision making · Emotion and affection · Nature of consciousness · Development and adaptation of intelligence · Mind modeling · Cognitive computing · Brain-machine integration · Intelligent robots and animal robots · Brain-like intelligence · Neuromorphic computing · Big data analytics · Intelligent information processing · Meta Synthetic Wisdom · Mind philosophy · Hybrid intelligence · Essence of perception · Mechanism of cognition · Advanced learning · Evolution · Logic theory for AI · Mathematical theory for AI · Factor Space Theory · Intelligent education Submissions process Authors are invited to submit either in a full paper of no more than 6 pages (or 6,000 words); a short paper, or problem instance (at most 3 pages or 3,000 words); or a position statement (1 page). Paper submissions are done through the Easychair system: https://easychair.org/conferences/submission_show_all.cgi?a=17656950 . The accepted papers should be presented in the conference.Selected papers will be recommended for publication in the following international journals. · International Journal of Intelligence Science · Special Issue, BMC Medical Informatics and Decision Making · Transactions on Intelligence Technology Detailed instructions can be found at the conference website: http://www.intsci.ac.cn/icis2018/ Important Dates Paper submission deadline: June 1, 2018 Notification of acceptance: July 10, 2018 Final Version: August 10, 2018 Workshops Intelligent Education Chairs : Wansen Wang, Hongguang Fu, Shimin Meng Noetic science Chairs : Jiali Feng, Xiaofeng Wang Language cognition Chairs : Zhiwei Feng, Houfeng Wang, Xiaohui Zou Medicine Artificial Intelligence Chairs : Zhisheng Huang, Jianfeng Feng Phase theorem Chairs:Chuan Zhao http://www.intsci.ac.cn/icis2018/cfp.jsp Conference Committees Steering Committee Peking University Leader Deyi Li President of CAAI Jianxian Lin Peking University Yanda Li Tsinghua University Bo Zhang Tsinghua University Ruqian Lu Chinese Academy of Sciences Wen Gao Peking University Guangjian Zhang , Chinese Association for Noetic Science(In Preparation) General Chairs Yixin Zhong Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications Jay McClelland Stanford University, USA Xingui He Peking University Program Committee Chairs Zhongzhi ShiChinese Academy of Sciences Cyriel PennartzU.
