人类认知系统的演化与“科技认知-行为系统”(一)

吕乃基 摘 要 :人的认知系统的演化——哺乳动物的认知系统,分别与语言、文字相应的认知系统,科技认知-行为系统,以及与计算机语言相应的认知系统,为理解人类历史提供了一个新的视角。其中,“科技认知-行为系统”在人类认知系统演进中具有特殊重要的地位与作用。 原文刊于“自然辩证法研究”2019,10 可以从不同角度梳理人类的历史,例如社会制度和生产力;人的认知系统的演化为理解人类历史提供了一个新的视角。 上世纪3、40年代,皮亚杰将儿童和青少年的认知发展划分为四个阶段 : 0-2 岁,感知运动阶段,形成协调感知输入和动作反应,依靠动作去适应环境。2-7岁,前运算阶段;6、7岁一11、12岁,具体运算阶段。11、12岁以上,进入形式运算阶段,发展抽象逻辑推理。 显然,皮亚杰得出的结论实际上是把海克尔的“生物重演律”运用到人的认知发展过程 ,将儿童的认知发展与人类的认知发展联系起来。 蔡曙山在2015年提出人类认知的五个层级 :神经认知、心理认知、语言认知、思维认知和文化认知,区分低阶认知和高阶认知。人类认知即高阶认知,是以语言为基础、以思维和文化为特征的认知形式。 皮亚杰强调几何与逻辑,儿童的认知发展实际上与教育不可分割。蔡曙山的研究侧重心理学和有关学科的关系。 2017 年,鲍捷在“脱碳入硅”一文 中提出人类有四套认知系统。着眼点不在于某个认知系统本身的细节,在于以认知系统的演化串起一部人类史。人类史的一头是哺乳动物,另一头指向“脱碳入硅”。在人类认知系统的演进中,“科学认知系统”(实乃“科技认知-行为系统”)是其中极其重要的一环。 皮亚杰11、12岁以上儿童的“形式运算阶段”,以及蔡曙山的“思维认知”,大致相当于“科技认知-行为系统”,但并未突出科学技术的地位。有必要考察“科技认知-行为系统”及其在人类认知系统演进中的地位与作用。 一、人类认知系统演进 鲍捷提出的认知系统的“阶”,分别是,50万年前及更早时期哺乳动物的认知系统,5万年前形成以语言为基础的认知系统,5000年前文字发明后发展的认知系统,以及500年前科学兴起后发展的认知系统。或许还可以再加上第五套认知系统,50年前兴起的编程+计算+学习+。每一套都比前一套更不“自然”,更耗费能量,速度更慢。所以人总是倾向于用低层次的认知系统。 每个人在日常生活中的认知都是多种认知方式的综合,区别是多种认知方式在各个场合的权重不同。就人类总体而言,在90%的人脑“机时”里,是原始的认知在起作用,也就是大多数人在大多数时间倾向于“不动脑子”。分析、符号和理性是哺乳类动物大脑的敌人,必须克服哺乳动物认知的本能才能运用更高的认知系统。 在此意义上,鲍捷给“愚蠢”下了一个定义。愚蠢是人类的一种认知惰性,这是广告之类营销手段之所以奏效和宫廷内斗等电视剧之所以有收视率的人性基础。人工智能超越人的智能,并不需要比人聪明,只需要避免人的愚蠢就够了。机器只是笨,人是愚蠢。笨可以治,蠢源于人的生理基础,无药可救 。 认知系统的每一次进阶,都甩下一部分人。因而,鲍捷的结论是,“脱碳入硅”不可阻挡。 由哺乳动物认知系统一直到计算机语言,人类的认知系统由一到五套,究竟发生了什么变化?可以有多个尺度衡量。 首先,对于认知对象和所处语境的抽象程度越来越高。 由哺乳动物认知系统所涉及到实际上最为丰富与即时的信息;到仅以语言描绘,难免百密一疏;从面对面绘声绘色声情并茂直接交流,到仅以文字符号表达、交流和学习(顺便说,在拼音文字占据绝大多数的世界各国,象形文——在一定程度上保留语言,甚至哺乳动物认知系统印记,是中国的一大特色);从多少贴近生活家长里短人情世故接地气的自然语言,到枯燥乏味远离尘世冷冰冰的科学语言;从虽然抽象,但毕竟在现实世界可以找到其对应物的科学语言,到通往虚拟世界的计算机语言,现实世界的种种关系正在步步隐去……。 在50万年的历程中,人类的认知系统所迈出的每一步都越发抽象,每一步都是信息的浓缩;与此同时,人也就舍去了越来越多的信息,以及失去了在同一时刻对全局的感知和把握能力。 其次,认知主体逐步隐去。哺乳动物认知系统,涉及为特定主体所独有的身临其境和当下全身心的浸润、体验和交流,尤其是关系到眼下各种争论的一个焦点:主体的意向性。语言所描绘场景和心情,以及可以在一定程度上为语言的交流者所共享,实际上主体此刻并不在场;主体的独特性和意向性有所下降。至于文字交流,主体已在幕后,且有时滞,同时为更多人共享(本文不涉及权力的影响)。科学认知系统,主体已经“泛化”,成为“泛主体”,除了认知动机如好奇心外,在认知过程中需排除个人好恶,也就是除了“求真”之外的意向性,客观地认识世界。至于编程,类似于做应用题时的立方程和解方程,随后可以在一定条件下普遍适用。此时,原有的主体已经不知去向。 第三,可以从传播学和知识论的视角理解一至五套认知系统发生的变化。 在第一套认知系统,特定的主体“沉浸”于特定的时空区间,形成不可言说的意会(tacit)知识,期间的酸甜苦辣、喜怒哀乐,经验教训,唯有当事人知。移情、隐喻、将心比心,谈何容易!需要以全身心去感知,即使当事人本人,时过境迁,也往往好了疮疤忘了痛。人的意会知识“是人类非语言智力活动的成果,” 就此而言,甚至可以认为,“意会”是为哺乳动物所特有的能力,必然和语言之间存在巨大的“逻辑鸿沟”。可见,由哺乳动物认知系统到语言认知系统的跨度之巨。 语言,可以于空间上在部落或更大范围交流,在时间上可以延迟,乃至代代相传,当然只是在一定程度上,那就是受“语境”所限。一旦抽离语境,便会发生信息的遗失和扭曲,发生个体间的误解,这也是口口相传不可避免的缺陷。 文字,进一步摆脱特定对象、主体和语境的束缚,在空间上传播范围更大,在时间上延续更长,内容也更稳定。 人有生物学意义的生命和社会学意义的生命。个人的语言和文字在广度和深度上所能达到之边界,其一,可以在不同程度上述及的对象,物、他人,以及自身(向内的边界);其二,可以在时间和空间上所传播到的人群和传播的深度;这二者结合起来,就是自我社会学意义生命的边界。交往是相互的,还要包括外界对主体的影响。较之哺乳动物认知系统,语言与文字拓展了人的社会学意义的生命。 科学技术的发展所形成的认知-行为系统进一步扩展了知识传播的空间,延伸了传播的时间,亦即扩展和延伸了人的社会学意义的生命(后文详述)。 认知系统的进阶颇有启发,也有待进一步论证。其中,“500年前科学发展后逐步形成的认知系统”,在认知系统的进阶中,在抽象程度、主体的意向性和传播学等三个方面,以及在更广泛的领域,具有特殊重要的意义。 罗素认为,人生下来的时候,只是无知,并不愚蠢。愚蠢是由后来的教育造成的。 https://baike.baidu.com/item/%E8%AE%A4%E7%9F%A5%E5%8F%91%E5%B1%95%E7%90%86%E8%AE%BA/7876079 蒋谦,皮亚杰科学思想“重演论”的启示及局限性 ,长沙理工大学学报(社科版) 2015 , 6 蔡曙山,论人类认知的五个层级 ,学术界 2015 , 12 鲍捷,脱碳入硅, http://36kr.com/p/5070536.html https://baike.baidu.com/item/%E9%9A%90%E6%80%A7%E7%9F%A5%E8%AF%86

“脑机接口”的遐思、期待与隐忧

吕乃基 近日看到一篇文章 https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/VUflljLiEM05my8CfHx_PQ 文章的标题是:美国突然宣布!全球屏息,谁也没想到,来的如此之快。 然而且慢。 1. 文中述及“脑机接口”改造人类的“四层金字塔”:修复、改善、增强、沟通。 修复 : 通过意念操纵机器替代人体的一些运动机能,修复残障人士的生理缺陷。 这一点以往已经有过报道,2014年巴西世界杯开幕式,瘫痪的青年利亚诺·平托就是通过脑机接口踢出了当年世界杯的第一球。 问题是,意念操纵机器,谁来操纵意念?意念来无踪去无影,加之杂念丛生,挥之不去。在一句话说出口写下来之前,会有十种或更多可能性,这就是不确定。在某种意义上可以说,人皆有犯罪动机,但大多数人遏制了这一动机。意念操纵机器,操纵机器的究竟是哪一个意念?心想,是否等于事成? 即使明确是往前踢球,又能否踢出贝克汉姆的圆月弯刀,踢出世界波? 改善 大脑运行,时刻像刚睡好觉醒来,精神抖擞、注意力集中、思维敏捷,清醒高效地去做事情。 鲍捷论及人的四套认知系统:哺乳动物认知系统、与语言相适应的认知系统、与文字相适应的认知系统,以及科技认知系统。大多数人醒着的大多数时间使用的是哺乳动物认知系统。在科技高度发达的21世纪,所处理的绝大部分事务均需要用到科技认知系统,这对于由哺乳动物进化而来的人类来说是巨大的负担。 笔者不从事科学研究,偶尔写篇论文,也时时感到力不从心。往往在伏案一段时间后,不由自主下滑到哺乳动物认知系统,看看金庸,或者007。 脑机接口究竟如何提升人的认知系统? 增强 :短时间内拥有大量知识和技能,获得一般人类无法拥有的超能力。 重点是记忆移植,或把大脑的意识上传到计算机,最终实现人类意识和记忆在计算机世界的永生。 记得若干年前的语文高考有这样一个作文题,“假如记忆可以移植”。一位年仅18岁的考生在分析了全部利弊之后,异常老辣地写下最后一句:50年后再议。 眼下虽没到50年,但“假如”正在成为现实。 沟通 :不用语言,仅靠脑电信号彼此沟通,实现“无损”的大脑信息传输 。传递的本质是神经元群的活动。不像语言的模糊和词不达意,是100%毫无信息扭曲的心领神会。 就“正能量”而言,说不清道不明属于个人的意会知识,从此可以共享。 想想《三体》吧。如此不确定的生存环境,一次又一次毫无征兆降临的灭顶之灾,三体人竟然在科技的发展上远胜生存环境优越得多的地球,何也? 字幕:我们没有交流器官,我们的大脑可以把思维向外界显示出来,这样就实现了交流。“想”等同于“说”。 伊文斯:就是说,你们的思维和记忆对外界是全透明的,像一本放在公共场合的书,或者说是在广场上放映的电影,或者像一个全透明鱼缸里的鱼,完全暴露,可以从外界一览无遗。 字幕:我害怕你们。 字幕:在我们世界的战争中,敌对双方也会对自己的阵地进行伪装,但如果敌人对伪装的区域产生了怀疑,直接向对方询问,那他们一般都会得到真相的。 字幕:这种思维透明度的差别,使我们更坚定了消灭人类的决心。请你们帮助我们消灭人类,最后我们再消灭你们。 三体人之所以超越人类或许还有其他原因,但思维的“透明”,无疑是关键之一。 反观人类社会,人心隔肚皮,听起来不舒服,却不是价值判断,而是事实判断。写下来的5个字是中文,说的可是人类。就人类的认知系统而言,从哺乳动物认知系统到与语言进而文字相应的认知系统,是两次巨大的质变,每一次都是由不确定到确定,薛定谔猫由不知死活到只有一种可能。看来,三体人在认知系统的演化上领先人类。 问题还在于口是心非,这就不是事实判断,而是涉及价值判断。 想想吧,要是“想”等同于“说”,且不说世界将会怎样,可以肯定的一点是,某些国家将会发生翻天覆地的变化……。“ 100% 毫无信息扭曲的心领神会 ”,还是不是“正能量”? 2. 文章最后预期, 以前的技术进步,让“富者愈富,贫者愈贫”;脑机接口,让富者愈聪明、博学、健康,贫者越弱小,最终出现超级人类。 最终不是,或不仅是贫富差距,而(且)是愚蠢与聪明的差距,而且大多数或绝大多数人将处于未来的愚蠢行列,只有少数或极少数得以进入聪明一族。 为什么 “富者愈聪明” ? 什么是现状与脑机接口之间的“接口”,是“钱”吗? 在人工智能界还有一个重要概念:人机回圈。有必要关注脑机接口与人机回圈这两个概念之间的关系。相对来说,脑机接口关注存在,人机回圈侧重过程。 问题是,人机回圈中的“人”是谁,是一小部分得以脑机接口“由富达智”的人吗?问题还在于,在一次次人机回圈中,人的因素可能越来越少,最终是机机回圈,由阿法狗到阿法元便是一例。脑机接口,是否可以避免人类出局的命运?

iccsip2018(清华)认知系统论坛1日如期举行圆满结束

首先,请冯嘉礼教授(属性论方法创立者)给iccsip(清华)会议的嘉宾们用板书的方式讲解了其最新研究成果(两种人工神经元的形式化方法),主持人邹晓辉当场给出了其通俗理解(几何的和代数的进而是几何代数的)-采用了形式化理解模型(人际之间的与人机之间的两个序列的进而再加上更进一步的即融智学的理解方式-这在邹晓辉后来讲解融智学的部分系统介绍的)。 随后,邹晓辉(融智学原创文集和融智学进阶文集作者)分别从七个字概括的知识分类顶层架构即理论融智学核心术语框架阐述了人类思想发展的几个里程碑并介绍了理论融智学的最新进展Tao(G,M,F)或D(L,T,W)其特点是高度复杂的人类智力劳动成果通过坐标变换把可感的对象世界(形象思维)与可知的符号文本(抽象思维)以及可感知且认知的心智思想(直觉思维)三个属性坐标结合起来对社会化、形式化和智能化三个方面加以刻画,从而,可一步一步地从无到有地通过定性分析与定量分析来记录人的成长过程暨发展水平,而且,它们是可计算、可学习和可理解的。这就给工程融智学与应用融智学如何落地实践描绘出了清晰的蓝图(它是人机双脑可记录的)。 最后,到会的各位嘉宾之间开展了比较自由的对话讨论。具体内容见全程视频记录。

认知过程的基本信息分析 三个世界与知识问题补充讨论之一 在与吕乃基老师关于三个世界和知识问题的讨论中,涉及知识与认识的关系,需要信息这个中介把它们联系起来,为此,摘录我在关于信息定义与本质概念讨论的我见一文中认知系统的信息分析一段,以供讨论、参考。 ***************************** 认知过程的基本信息分析 人是在自然界长期演化和进化过程中形成的一种具有生命和大脑思维功能的高级自组织体,但他仍然是客观世界中的一个客观物质实体。所以在客观世界事物之间普遍相互联系和作用的过程中,人与他周围的客观事物之间也必定存在着各种联系和相互作用。客观事物的属性通过各种力、场、光、声及分子物质扩散等物质的传输介质作用于人的各种器官并传递给大脑。在大脑中产生对这些客观事物属性的印记或反映,就形成了人对客观事物的初步感性认识。由此可见,所谓人对客观事物的认识,实际上就是对客观事物属性的认识,是表征客观事物属性的信息。所以,在人类的主观认识世界中,我们可以把信息的基本概念直接归结为人对客观事物的认识。它是客观事物属性在人脑中留下的印记,或者说,是在人脑属性中所反映的客观事物的属性。这与本体层次属性信息的概念是基本一致的。人脑的反映属性是物质反映属性的高级形式。 为了进一步研究客观事物属性是如何反映到人的大脑中去的,我们构造了如图2所示的个人认知系统模型。如图所示,人的各种外部器官,如眼的视觉、耳的听觉、鼻的嗅觉、舌的味觉、皮肤的感觉及皮肤的触觉等都具有信息采集功能,大脑具有信息处理和存贮功能,遍布人全身的神经系统具有信息传输功能,口、手、足在大脑信息控制下的动作,则体现了信息的利用功能。人的自然器官所具有的这些功能被称为人的自然信息功能。人正是利用这些自然信息功能来开始认识客观世界和适应、改造客观世界的。 我们以眼看到事物的过程为例:当光线照射到被观察的客观物体时,光将产生反射和折射,并使光的频谱特性因此产生变化,光谱特性的变化正是被观察事物的形状、颜色和质地等属性的反映,也即被观察事物的某些属性信息被反映到光的属性变化之中。光是具有流动性的物质,它携带被观察事物的这些属性传递给人眼,眼的特殊感光作用把光谱中所反映的事物属性又反映给眼神经系统并引起眼神经的某种属性变化传递给大脑,大脑又以脑神经网络的某种属性变化存储了所观察事物的属性信息,从而使客观事物的属性信息间接地传递到人的大脑之中;耳闻客观事物的声音信息、是发出声音的事物以它音频的震动推动空气的振动而形成空气波,空气波的振动频率与幅度变化反映了声源事物的震动声音属性,空气波携带着声源发出的声音属性信息扩散到人的耳朵并推动耳膜产生同步的音频震动,耳膜震动再通过耳神经系统把声音信息传递给大脑;鼻嗅客观事物的气味信息,如嗅到花的香味,是花所含的某些具有香味属性的气体分子通过空气扩散直接作用到人的鼻子,通过鼻的嗅觉神经传递给大脑;皮肤触摸客观事物的表面,则直接把该事物表面的硬度、光滑程度等质地属性信息通过感觉神经传递给大脑。由此可见,人脑对客观事物的认识,确实是客观事物属性在人脑中的反映,是客观事物属性信息传递给人脑的结果。所以人脑对客观事物认识应该属于信息的范畴,我们把它称为 认识层次的信息 。 ************************************* 几点补充讨论: ( 1 ) 从世界1到世界2,即从客观自然的物质世界到主观认识的精神世界,是由认知信息系统的信息活动建立的信息联系,物质世界与精神世界之间只有信息才能建立联系。 (2)认识的实质就是人的认知信息系统通过对客观世界本体属性信息的获取、传递和处理而在人脑(认知主体)中产生或反映的对客观事物(认知客体)的映像,这个映像我们也称为认识层次的信息,它是世界2 认识世界或精神世界中的主要内涵。 (3 ) 人对客观世界的认识过程通过感性认识到理性认识,理性认识是经过人脑思维的信息处理产生的对客观事物相对比较正确的认识(当然还包括人与人之间信息的交流和学习),我们把它称为知识。所以知识属于认识范畴,也属于信息范畴,是认识层次信息的重要的内涵,因此,我们也把认识层次的信息称为认识层次的知识信息。。 (4)人脑的高级思维能力即人的智能是人的认知信息系统的核心,也是人区别于其他动物能够较深刻认识世界并产生世界3 人造科技世界并通过世界3能动地改造世界的基本原因。 以上个人观点,欢迎批评讨论!
