The main different can be seen in the following: in the previous paper "D. Qin, H. Tao, Y. Cao, Chin. J. Chem. Phys. 20, 670 (2007). doi: 10.1088/1674-0068/20/06/670-674."(we have cited in this paper, reference 24), we just report the finding on v-shaped Se-Te NWs and Te NWs by using SDBS surfactant but we do not further investigate the whole preparing process. Such as the important of Te nano-seeds, the straight morphology of Se-Te NWs still haven't obtianed in the previous paper, the previous paper is for nano-meeting in chinese on 2007. After that, we do a lot of research on Se-Te NWs in order to find out the exact grow mechanism on Se-Te nanowires and the whole V-shape Se-Te NW formation(Figure 5, there are no Figure show before) is investegated. Further more, we first time obtain straight and self-assemble Se-Te NW by using long Te nanorods as seeds(Figure 2, please check, this is different from the previous paper on straight Te NW). We also add new XRD data on Se-Te NW(Figure 3 different Se to Te ratio).Although these two paper all talk about the V-shape Se-Te NWs, the characterize of V-shaped Se-Te NWs is more detail by the help of professor Dapeng Yu research group( we also cited the previous paper in reference24). So by comparing these two paper, we can conclude that the final paper contains a lot of new finding, and the mechanism is more accepted, there are no self-plagiarize in this paper. Self-plagiarize is a very serious problem and we never do this in our research group. People who think that this paper is self-plagiarize may just read the title of these two papers( one title is Controlled Synthesis of Se/Te Alloy and Te Nanowires and one title is Solution Grown Se/Te Nanowires: Nucleation, Evolution, and The Role of Triganol Te seeds). So one may think that this two papers is the similar. In fact, a lots of different contained in the new paper( including all the figure used in new paper). The paper in previous is just the finding on the V-shaped Se-Te NW and straight Te NW by using SDBS surfactant. The grow mechnism is just a guess as no further experiment was done. The paper on NRL including the whole synthesized of V-shaped Se-Te NW(Fig1) straight Se-Te NW (Fig 2) and the V-shaped Se-Te NW formation process(Figure 5) .
