As a mother, I am sorry to say that I don't like to sit next to a kid with ADHD on a plane. He or she may be kicking my seat from the side or f rom behind for hours... However, in this situation, I could at least tell him or her to stop it, or give the kid a serious stare. What would you do if a woman in her 60s fidgets constantly? My flight from SFO to HNL was shorter than scheduled by 30 mins. Still, I wish I could move away from her (short of opening the exit door next to me). OMG, she reminds me of a monkey who can never sit still...
I wanted to try a direct flight to China out of Hawaii, but I will not want to take it again with China Eastern Airlines. Why? First of all, the food was terrible, worse than what I got on domestic flights by the same airliner inside China. (I wondered why so. Maybe the airliner wanted to give "rich Chinese" some pain, since most passengers on these flights are tourists?) Then, it's the passengers, who are loud, and sometimes rude. I planned to sleep on my return flight of nine hours, which would allow me to bounce back after arrival at 9am. No way, the ladies near by were too excited and LOUD. I understand their excitement, but I wish they could keep their voice down. So, what could I do? I watched "silent movies" instead. (Yeah, I am picky about the sound effect, and have refused to watch any new movies on the plane. Since I couldn't sleep, I watched some old movie with Chinese subtitle and no sound. I also watched two documentaries about wine-making, which was educational. I noticed some bad translation, but I shouldn't be too picky since it's free.)
Alaska Airlines flight #864 is 60% on time. This morning, it is delayed by 300 minutes! I know somebody was happy to go back to sleep (yeah, at 6am, I would, too). But, a lot of tourists are probably very unhappy now, since they already checked out of their hotels and headed to the airport. Or, may be they went back to sleep or headed to the beach for a last dip?
