After about half-years evaluation of my journal IJABE by the Scopus title evaluation by the Scopus Content Selection Advisory Board has been completed, International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering- (1934-6344/1934-6352, IJABE, http://www.ijabe.org ) has been accepted for indexing in Scopus! Meanwhile, I got an official email from Mr. Carlo Nuss, an AGRICOLA Indexing Supervisor, from National Agricultural Library, USDA, Beltsville, Maryland, USA. The email informs me that This is to confirm that in 2009 the Journal Evaluation Panel voted to accept International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering for inclusion in AGRICOLA. 从事科研的人一般都对知道快速搜索收集最新最全的文献是相当重要的事情，我一直在用Pubmed和Scopus这两个搜索引擎，觉得非常不错，分享给大家。 1 http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/PubMed/ PubMed comprises more than 19 million citations for biomedical articles from MEDLINE and life science journals. Citations may include links to full-text articles from PubMed Central or publisher web sites. 它主要的是偏重于生物、医学方面的应用报道尤其是生命分析科学方面的报道，最新最快的报道，比如像ACS，以及Wiley数据库的As Soon As Publishable都会及时的搜索到的。文献类型比如Review可以单独分类搜索到，很方便的。 2 http://www.scopus.com/home.url Scopus is the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature and quality web sources with smart tools to track, analyze and visualize research. 它的功能在于搜索的文献比较全面，对于关注研究领域相当宽的来说可以保证不会错过文献的审阅，而且它的特色在于可以搜索作者文献被引用的次数和平均影响因子等，这个功能好像比Web of Science还好用。

Scopus 是目前全世界最大的摘要和引文数据库，涵盖了15000余种期刊。作为Web of Science(含SCI和SSCI等)的垄断地位最有力挑战者，Scopus得到了《Nature》以及国际上一批科学计量学和信息计量学家的支持。Bar-Ilan 甚至认为Scopus等新数据库的出现，是二十一世纪以来对信息计量学最有影响的进展之一。Scopus也逐渐被广泛用于科学计量学的研究 及科学评价 。 前人对于世界各国的论文数量及影响力的探讨，主要使用的是SCI和SSCI数据。这里给出一个Scopus1996年－2007年的截面数据（如图所示）。 由图得到以下粗略分析： （1）美国在论文数量、总体影响力和平均影响力上，都有无可争议的巨大优势。 （2）和国民经济实力相似，中国论文在总量上进步较快，但总体质量（影响力）上略为落后，而在平均水平上则惨不忍睹。实际上，在此数据集里，中国论文的篇均被引排名世界205位（当然，个人觉得科学领域的论文平均被引次数后验价值不大）。 （3）中国论文自引率较高，国际交流度不够，这是我国论文影响力相对落后的原因之一。当然这也是母语非英语国家的共同困难。 （4）Scopus比较厚道的是台湾省的标注，但为何香港又 参考文献 Scopus. .http://www.scopus.com/scopus/home.url.
