昨天因为时间限制没能进入城堡里面,实在心有遗憾。今晨在Google地图上做了点功课,豁然发现,城堡就在我们所住公寓楼的旁边,楼旁小街对面是一片树林,正是Fonthill Park的一部分。正所谓“踏破铁鞋无觅处,重游全无费功夫”。地理位置的相邻,可能也是公寓叫做Fonthill Apartment的原因。下得楼来,穿过小街,对面小石碑旁边的林中小路就通往Fonthill堡。穿过200米左右的林间小径,走到林子的另一边,就能远远望到Fonthill堡了。走到城堡也就不过十分钟的时间。昨天步行到Mercer博物馆,再走到Fonthill城堡,将近3个小时,呵呵,这就是没好好做功课的代价! 从房子过小路走到小牌楼边上就是Fonthill Park的树林了 曲径通幽处 Henry Chapman Mercer 1908年在建造Fonthill城堡時也建造了這個林子裡的小石屋 建成後也沒有派什麼用場 一直閒置荒蕪在小路旁 小 石屋 的 房檐上刻有铭文: WHO LEARNS WILL LOVE AND NOT DESTROY, THE CREATURES LIFE, THE FLOWERS JOY 小路尽头的Fonthill城堡 尽管事先没有预定,还是有购票的机会,只是要排到下午2:15才能轮到进入城堡。还有时间先去看看Moravian Pottery and Tile Works (摩拉维亚陶器和瓷砖工场)吧。工场离城堡不远,都在Fonthill Park范围之内, 也是Henry Mercer建造城堡同期建筑的。许多精美陶器和瓷砖都出自于此。 Moravian Pottery and Tile Works Moravian Pottery and Tile Works 铭牌 终于轮到我们进入城堡了。由于疫情的缘故,每批次进入城堡的人数限制在5个人,由一个讲解员负责引导,每个人也都要带上口罩。城堡完全是用Henry Mercer研发制备的钢筋混凝土建造的,城堡内的墙壁,屋顶和地面铺设的装饰陶器和瓷砖也都是来自Henry收藏品和摩拉维亚陶器瓷砖工场的产品。城堡内藏品极多,非常特殊,与众不同,其中最多的是陶器和早期铜板印刷艺术品.。 国家历史景点标志 据说堆积的那些陶器是上千年古埃及的物件 不知是否属实 镶在墙上的琉璃瓦 瓷地砖

Mount Kisco was New Castle's only village, as per the guidelines of the State of New York. Half of the village was in the town of New Castle, the other half is in the town of Bedford . However, in 1972, the Town of Mount Kisco was formed, officially separating the village from New Castle. The Village of Mount Kisco is now coterminous with the Town of Mount Kisco, and has nothing to do with the towns of New Castle or Bedford.
