WARNING: potential route subnet conflict between local LAN and remote VPN

The first hotel is 4 or 5 star one, and charges for wireless connection. BUT, the front desk lady gave me a little slip with the info for free connection. I don't know why, maybe she felt sorry for someone who checked in at 2am? I was happy to use it briefly. My next hotel was a 2 star one, with free internet. But, I was warned the connection was NOT safe. So, I tried to stay out of it whenever I could. This hotel is a nice 4 star one, again with free internet. (Well, I intentionally booked hotels with free wifi.) However, I had to register, due to some stupid French internet law. And, it changes its log in info DAILY. I guess the hotel does not want guests to use the service after they check out. Fine with me, except that I have to go ask for the info daily...
