可怜的我

刚看到肖建华老师的一篇介绍理性力学的文章，写到很好，尽管我看得似懂非懂的。一个结构工程的学生，至少工程力学的各个分枝都学过一点了，可是提到理性力学，却仍是只知其名，不知其真正所以然，不免脸中飞红了。看完正好内急，想起肖老师文中提到Truesdell，书架上正好有Truesdell的连续介质力学讲义——The Elements of Continuum Mechanics，如厕的好材料，抓紧时间补习一下。
这不，Truesdell在1966年是这样评价我们的工程力学教育的：
Indeed, in many universities today the student is considered a master of "classical mechanics" if he has a nodding acquaintance with the formalism of analytical dynamics. Just as bad, many engineering schools are now disguising by the name "continuum mechanics" a loos gruel of bits of classical elasticity floating at random in classical fluids waste.
原来我这工程力学学了几年，都只学了一点waste！你说我可怜不可怜？
