寻求合作的目的是为了更好地完成科学研究，基础研究的成果主要是学术期刊论文，那么合作是否能产出质量更高的论文，是否能产出影响力更大的论文呢？

       我们的一项研究回答了第二个问题：在中国学者发表的论文的影响力方面，合作并不比单干强，国际合作并不比国内合作强。研究选取了中国学者发表在化学领域的期刊论文，比较了单干、国内合作与国际合作三个类别的论文的篇均被引次数（CPP），采用非参数假设检验，得到了上述结论。论文发表在Journal of Chemical Information and Modeling （SCI收录），但该篇论文被SSCI收录。

       可能有人会问：合作也看跟谁合作，跟比中国强（在化学领域）的国家/地区合作应该会更有利。事实上，中国学者很少跟比中国差的国家/地区合作。也有可能有人会问：如果合作不能提升论文的影响力，那不如单干算了。人文社科和研究可能单干，但科技领域大概很少有研究能单干，这是其一。其二，合作是否能产出质量更高的论文，这个问题留着后续研究回答。

Bibliometric Analysis of Chinese Research on Cyclization, MALDI-TOF, and Antibiotics

Abstract: This paper reports a bibliometric analysis of the impact of research in China on cyclization, MALDI-TOF, and antibiotics, comparing this research with that in the USA, Germany, and Japan. It is shown that the productivity of the Chinese research (in terms of numbers of publications) is growing rapidly; however, this growth has not, to date, been accompanied by an analogous growth in impact (in terms of citations to the published work). A citation analysis of national and international collaboration patterns shows that collaborative research does not invariably result in a larger number of citations; in part, at least, this is shown to be due to the dominant role played by the publications of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
