Beijing is an international city. Themarker system in Beijing is similar to that in England. Toilet, bus stop and soon are even more obvious than that in England. So even you don’t understandChinese, I am sure you can easily find where you want to go by the similarmarkers.

However if you cannot catch sight of thesemarkers, you may need to ask someone who probably cannot understand English. Inthis situation you need to know some Chinese, especially when it is urgent, forexample, you need to go to toilet. Here is a sentence that is very useful.

请问厕所在哪里？（qingwen ce suo zai na li?）could you please tell me where toilet is?

厕所，ce suo,means, Toilet。Sometimes it was called 卫生间（wei sheng jian）

麻烦您带我去一下厕所，好吗？（ ma fan nin dai wo qu yi xiace suo, hao ma?）would you mind to show me  the toilet?

Certainly,  厕所（ce suo） can bechanged by the other places (such as shopping mall商场（shangchang），supermarket 超市(chao shi)，restaurant餐厅(can ting)) you want to go，

Bus and subway in Beijing are very cheap, butnot convenient, because there are a lot people in Beijing, sometimes you are squeezed to a paper in the subway. (however, two penny can travel all over Beijing by subway, bus is cheaper than subway.) Taxi is convenient, and relative cheap(compare with the price in England), you may take taxi.

If you want to buy something in Beijing, forexample, for a souvenir, you may say:

我想买一些纪念品。(wo xiang mai yi xie ji nian pin) I want to buy some souvenirs. InChina, you need not pay gratuities. I am sure you can get some discounts inmost shopping mall for most commodities, but I suppose you need to ask aChinese friend to help you.

In summer，你能穿多少就穿多少，

In winter，你能穿多少就穿多少。

it is the same Chinese characters, but the meaning is totally different, in summer you wear as less as you can, but in winter you should wear as much as you can. Different emphasis can make the meaning totally different.
