The United States Geological Survey and Palaeobotany

   美国联邦地质调查局(The United States Geological Survey --USGS) 成立于1879年3月3日，它是隶属于美国政府的科学研究机构。130多年以来，USGS对推动美国自然历史的发展发挥了重要作用。就植物化石的采集、保存和研究（包括文献编目）而言，USGS在国家层面上对美国古植物学的全面崛起做出了积极贡献。
