1850年代后期华工来到俄勒冈州南部的Jacksonille， Ashland, Grandpass, 迁移到俄勒冈东北地区Baker city

和Idaho Lewis 1861 clearwater 发现黄金

尽管当地人不接受华人，但是白人雇主喜欢雇佣华人 因为华人干活更好，薪水低很多且不闹罢工不惹是生非。

1860，1870正是美国特别是加州闹劳工运动年代。白人矿工开始抵制华人的不让华人开采。华工带来了在加州开矿额经验，白人就只把开才过了尾矿卖给华人但是即使这样，华人从尾矿1开采胜于案白人的开采。

1870地狱谷俄勒冈这边来了一批华工哦他们从lewis idaho 过来的，一路上非常危险要划船逆流而上。 地狱谷比大峡谷深。他们在 Deep Creek Canyon 干了四五个月，被匪徒团伙注意到就阴谋打劫。

实际上在那个荒山野岭的地方，他们抢走黄金，华工即使去政府报案也不会有人搭理华工。

他们杀死华人实质出于种族仇视。

几个星期后，几具尸体漂到下游lewisivlle Idaho 正是们原来打工的地方，

三人跑掉，出庭时证人把一切推给了逃跑的人头上，3个被告之一1岁全部无罪释放。

当时对华人犯罪很多，但是法庭上，白人陪审团统统无罪释放被告！

当时对华贸易非常重要，美国赔偿，但是这起案子的华工没有得到赔偿，案子被隐藏。

文员藏匿文件因为主案犯孙女是她好友在县里任职。 （她授意隐藏法律文件？）
