I have mentioned previously that we are blessedv with successful and independent children. They jointly gave us a fabulous 50th wedding anniversay party which I chronicled in my blogs on 10-10-2009. Now as both my wife and I are at 86.1 and 87.8 years old respectively. They have all asked us to move close to them so that they can look after and help us better and more efficiently. This is what most parents often do in the US. However, both of us have deep roots in and love the town of Lexington which we have lived for more than half a century. We also regard the Greater Boston area as one of the most dersiable place to live in the US. Thus we have decided to stay put and move into a rtetirement community in Lexington when openings become available. Nevertheless our elderest daughter decided recently that if we don't want to move to be with her closer, she will move closer to us instead. Thus last month she rented out her home for 30 years in Connecticut and moved with her husband to a rented house in Lexington to be closer to us. This is the kind filal devotion not often heard or seen. We are most touched and probably the envy of many parents. We don't want to brag but can't help saying how blessed we are!
