Terje Aven教授解释安全科学的综合与交叉属性

TerjeAven最近发表在SafetyScience中的论文Whatis safety science? 一文中有一段话解释了安全科学的综合与交叉属性：

“将安全科学归为综合学科或跨学科领域是很常见和显而易见的。然而，如上所定义的那样，安全科学本身也是一门的学科。很清楚，安全科学与诸多学科相联系并以它们为基础而建立。不期望的结果可以发生在任何领域，从工程技术到环境影响和自然灾害、健康、保安、金融，安全领域需要这些领域提供借鉴，比如在研究技术系统失败的安全因素时，材料科学可以提供重要的分析，数理统计可以用来分析失效数据。然而，只有一个领域专门研究解决关于了解、评估、描述、传达、管理安全活动的适宜概念工具，这就是安全科学，或者是更通用的风险领域。在涉及到与安全相关的各部分时，安全科学可以扩展到与其他学科重叠，因而把重叠的部分列为安全科学的一部分也是合理的，因为安全涉及到交叉部分的研究，而且其概念工具部分也有很强的交叉性。”

由上可见，上述解释与博主在《安全科学方法学》（中国劳动社会保障出版社ISBN：9787504590183，2011年7月出版）著作和更早以前发表的论文中对安全科学属性的解释是不谋而合的。

It is common and itobviously makes sense to refer to safety science as a multi- orinter-disciplinary field. However, as defined above, safety science is alsoconsidered a field or discipline in itself. It is clearly connected to and isbuilt on many other disciplines. The unwanted consequences can be related toany area, ranging from technology and engineering to environmental impacts andnatural disasters, health, security and finance. The safety field draws oncompetence in these areas, for example when studying safety related to failureof a technical system, material science could provide an essential input to theanalysis and statistical theory can be used to analyse the failure data.However, there is only one field that specifically addresses the issue ofdeveloping suitable conceptual tools for understanding, assessing,characterising, communicating and managing safety, and that is safety science,or more generally the risk field if we adopt a broad definition of risk. Whenit comes to understanding the world (in relation to safety) part, the safetyscience may to large extent overlap with other sciences, yet it make sense todefine it as a component of safety science as safety is the concern for thestudies and there is a strong interaction with the conceptual tool part.
